AWARDS

NZ Commercial Project Awards 2019 –  Silver Award, Resene Commercial Fitout category

High-quality, Totara-themed office fitout for a discriminating client.

Dalman Architects appointed our Canterbury Interiors team to complete the fitout of their new 750m² flagship office, situated on a prominent site on the corner of Colombo and Peterborough Streets in central Christchurch.

The theme for the interior was Totara, as the area was an ancient totara forest. From the full height totara berry red pivot door you walk past a natural 3000 year-old log of totara to the totara-clad board room. The landscaping was designed to resemble a regenerating forest floor.

As well as the board room, the project includes a new kitchen, WCs, exhibition space, and a meeting room built into a shipping container. We incorporated multiple products in the meticulously detailed fitout, including Autex wall panelling and acoustic ceiling baffles and USG suspended ceiling grid. The ceiling was partially tiled due to the client’s preference for a gritty, semi-industrial feel.

We were pleased to hand the beautifully finished offices over to this discriminating client in time for their 20th birthday celebrations, despite a number of changes to the scope as the project progressed.
