Fast track industrial project in a hygienic food production environment.

Naylor Love was engaged by Fonterra on a negotiated basis for the fast track construction of the new 33kVa sub-station (a precast panel building), chiller building (precast panel and double tee construction) and transformer compound at their milk processing plant in Edendale.

The scope included assisting with buildability during the design stage and providing budgets to allow for the earliest possible start.

The two new buildings were completed under Fonterra’s stringent Ringfence procedure, with Naylor Love in control of the Ringfence. This meant all health & safety and coordination on the project was our responsibility in the especially hygienic environment.

Outside the Ringfence but still on site, we also constructed new pipe bridge supports to exacting dimensional tolerances and oversaw the installation and coordination of the new pipe bridges, which were completed with all services.

Our contract work was all completed on time, allowing early commencement of the specialist client fitout. We were pleased to be asked to remain on site during the fitout to maintain the Ringfence on Fonterra’s behalf while separate contractors completed the installation of plant and equipment.
