Only 12 months from foundation works to milk powder production starting.

Our Dunedin team travelled north to build the Studholme milk processing plant in South Canterbury, an ambitious undertaking due to the accelerated programme – only twelve months from the start of the foundation works to production of milk powder, making Studholme the fastest constructed drying plant in New Zealand.

We built a new 4,500m² dry goods store, 14m high boiler house and 30m high drying tower. When the plant installers arrive to lower the drying cone through the concrete ring beam we had fabricated and installed on the drying tower they found only a 3mm variance over the 12m diameter ring, which they commented was the best they had ever seen in terms of accuracy and finish.

Work was completed on time and on budget without compromising any of the design objectives, with a high standard and workmanship and finish achieved. Studholme is now owned and operated by Fonterra.
