Design & build project promotes buildability and ensures price certainty.
The Naylor Love Waikato/BOP team demolished 11 leaky classrooms at Tahatai Coast school and constructed a new 16 classroom, two-storey block and library building.
The construction was carried out while the school was open, with the school principal particularly complimenting the Naylor Love team on their open communication, and “making it easy for the school to operate under a construction zone.”
Naylor Love had the responsibility for the design process, which promoted buildability and ensured construction price certainty. Early in the process Naylor Love promoted cost engineering to the design, ensuring the school got exactly what they needed within the available budget.
The project was completed to the a high standard over the course of a year, with the project completed in time for the start of the 2013 school year.
