General Manager – Pre-Construction
After completing his apprenticeship Ian joined Naylor Love Structural Steel Division as a Boilermaker, where he gained practical experience and skills in construction of steel framed structures. He then retrained as a Quantity Surveyor and spent six years working in a Consulting Quantity Surveyors practice before returning to Naylor Love as Quantity Surveyor.
Ian continued to work as a Quantity Surveyor for a number of years, then moved into a Project Manager role, where he was involved in a number of significant projects in Dunedin, including the award winning University of Otago Information Services Building. He then transferred to Auckland as a Project Manager in The Warehouse / Naylor Love Joint Venture looking after all new and refurbishment projects for The Warehouse throughout the North Island.
In 2005, Ian was appointed as Director of Naylor Love Dunedin Ltd, a position he held until he was named our General Manager – Pre-Construction in June 2019.
