Aotea College had a problem with water entering the floor of their gymnasium, and asked our Wellington team to fix it over the summer break, ready for the start of the new school year.
Initially the scope was for patch-work to the existing membrane, but we discovered that the membrane was damaged and holding a significant amount of water on the slab. We needed to remove it and re-apply a new type of membrane – but the school still needed their gym ready on the same date.
We installed a new nib to the perimeter, researched a new hydrepoxy substrate, and found a subcontractor to apply it at short notice.
The team pulled out all the stops to complete the job with a week to spare and the gymnasium floor is now protected from flooding and ready to go!
