Alpine Aqualand, a world-class swimming pool and leisure complex, is part of the Queenstown Events Centre in Frankton.

The iconic building was designed to reflect the natural environment of the Queenstown area, with features including a 25m deep-end pool with eight 2.5m lanes, large leisure pool featuring 37m lazy river and other play features, toddler’s pool, two hydroslides, spa pool, separate learners’ pool, health and fitness areas, and a new foyer linking the aquatic centre to the existing events centre.

Naylor Love worked alongside the project design team through the developed design to consent level documentation stages, and submitted a fixed lump sum price having tendered to the sub-trades on an open book policy. Energy efficiency was a key aspect of the design.

The outcome was an excellent result for all parties, finishing on time, on budget and to an excellent standard.

“The Alpine Aqualand project immediately stood out for a number of reasons – not the least how well the building reflects its surrounding environment, its high degree of complexity and the outstanding level of workmanship.”
