Naylor Love was appointed on a single line of accountability model for the design and construction of a new Māori immersion school at a greenfield site in Ranui, West Auckland.

The collaborative design approach, involving iwi and whānau, the school’s board of trustees, the wider Ranui community, the Waitakere City Council and Ministry of Education, led to an energy-efficient and sustainable design, which was certified with the maximum 5-star Green Star rating for education projects.

With open plan teaching areas, an administration area, a hall, catering and toilet facilities, and beautifully landscaped outdoor areas, the impact on the environment across the whole life cycle of the facility was considered, with the building uses and spaces designed to be changed in future as required.

The client particularly complimented the Naylor Love team for their excellent working relationships, “can-do” approach, and on-site health and safety.

The school is a magnificent asset for the West Auckland community.
