Zero waste awards
Site Engineer Aniket Kothe was Highly Commended in the Community Collaboration category at the Tāmaki Makaurau Zero Waste Awards!
Aniket is a Site Engineer/Quality Manager on one of our major Auckland projects. He has taken ownership of reducing waste on site, bringing subcontractors, suppliers, waste management partners and the client team together to achieve some incredible outcomes:
✓ 26.76 tonnes of excess concrete reused through Envirocon
✓ 249kg of plastic wrap diverted through a new take-back programme
✓ A 97.5% waste diversion rate
Aniket also helped to explore a reuse pathway for butynol membrane. While technical challenges meant the trial was not successful this time, that willingness to test, learn and keep improving is exactly how progress happens.
Thank you to EcoMatters Environment Trust and Auckland Council’s Waste Solutions team for organising the awards, and to Junk2Go Limited for sponsoring the Community Collaboration category.
