Green Star Champions
It was wonderful to see Environmental Managers Annie Day and Stephanie Mayer recognised as Green Star Champions at the Green Property Summit.
New Zealand Green Building Council Chairman Simon Neale acknowledged Annie’s many years as a passionate advocate for sustainable buildings, highlighting her work on Resido Apartments and the University of Auckland B230 project. He also made special mention of her championing of the Resource Sorter – Construction course.
Stephanie was recognised for her commitment, leadership and advocacy of Green Star, including her focus on sustainable products and her willingness to ask the challenging questions that help ensure Green Star continues to represent best-practice sustainability outcomes.
What makes this even more special is that there was no nomination process. Annie and Steph were selected by the NZGBC for the strength of their contribution, and were among only seven people named as champions this year. It’s a fantastic recognition of all the energy they put into helping our industry build better.
