General Manager – Construction
Pete joined Naylor Love as a Cadet in 1990 after working as a Carpenter & Foreman in various places around Otago. He has progressed steadily through the company in a variety of roles, including Regional Operations Manager in Central Otago, JV Operations Manager for Lockwood Naylor, and Regional Manager in Canterbury during the turbulent post-earthquake period.
He was appointed to Group Manager – Construction in late 2014, then added Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) to his portfolio in 2015. He managed the business transition required for the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, managed the successful implementation of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 into the business, drove the process for Naylor Love’s certification with Toitū Envirocare and setting our carbon reduction goals, and played a pivotal role in setting up and implementing the Vertical & Horizontal Construction Protocols that got the NZ construction sector back to work after the Covid-19 lockdowns.
Pete’s current role as General Manager – Construction involves a wide range of pre-construction and construction responsibilities across the Naylor Love group, along with ongoing responsibility for our Environmental Management system and Sustainability initiatives.
