Noaia Trust volunteer day
Our team of 13 volunteers got stuck in at a volunteer day with Noaia Charitable Trust in Tuahiwi.
Noaia is a kaupapa Māori social enterprise doing important mahi to connect local rangatahi with education, training and sustainable career pathways, while strengthening connections to whānau, hapū and whenua.
Everyone pitched in to plant and mulch 150 native plants and complete the sub-floor framing for a new deck. It was a proper team effort, wrapped up with a shared hāngī, good kōrero and a few tired muscles.
The feedback from Noaia summed it up nicely: if they’d known how much we would get through, they would have lined up more work for us!
A big thank you to VIP Trade for donating decking materials and Radar Geophysical for providing the inground radar scan.
