Upcycling at Otago Girls’ High School
Early in our Otago Girls’ High School project, we gave the workshop teacher some rimu that was salvaged from the demolition areas.
His students have since turned that timber into some seriously impressive furniture and cabinetry pieces.
We were invited back to judge the finished pieces and select our favorites. The creativity and craftsmanship was incredible, especially the fold-out table that won first place. A special mention to the egg coffee table too.
It’s awesome to see materials from the project being repurposed, a great example of sustainability in action.
