High-quality results over a tight timeframe in a live hospital.

Our Projects & Interiors team returned to Braemar Hospital to complete three stages of refurbishment works, delivering high-quality results over a tight timeframe in a live hospital environment.

The first stage was largely enabling works for the following stages, involving construction and fitout of a new medical records room, meeting rooms, offices, reception, kitchen and bathroom within the existing building footprint. The medical records room features a gas suppression system to protect vital records from fire damage and a strengthened floor to support the weight of the patient files.

The following stage was the complete demolition of the existing reception area, bathrooms and café, followed by the construction of new accessible toilets, a coffee station, concierge desk, administration and waiting areas. The stunning fitout includes digital art, decorative and acoustic wall panelling, feature ceilings, and Otsumigaki polished lime plaster feature walls.

The final stage involved the converting the old records room and administrative spaces into a pre-admissions service with two consulting rooms, a large physio room and two quiet spaces.

Careful sequencing, constant communication and a meticulously planned burst of work over the hospital’s Christmas shut-down ensured that we completed the transformation of the administrative, reception and pre-admissions areas with minimal impact on the hospital’s day-to-day operations.
