Coastal View Yacht Club

We were pleased to be invited back to Coastal View retirement village to build their new entertainment and activities centre. The nautical-themed Yacht Club contains a restaurant, café, bar, bakery, gym, cinema, indoor swimming pool, library, communal lounges, beauty treatment room and a hair salon, all connected by a light-filled central atrium that makes the most of the stunning views over Tasman Bay.

Being the first pool we have built in Nelson, we pored over the plans and took advice from our pool experts in other regions. This led to us working with the designers to adjust the details, resulting in a more robust end product for the client.

Our site was closely bordered by occupied residences, with the only access through the rest of the village. We scheduled deliveries to minimise disruption to the residents from heavy truck moments.

The Yacht Club blends high-end finishes and accessibility features such as non-slip flooring and a hearing loop system in the cinema, plus state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical systems. Our team pulled out all the stops to integrate all the tech with meticulous craftsmanship, carefully onboarding the client’s nominated specialist subcontractors to the build to ensure that everybody was aligned with our best-for-project approach.
