Hereford Residences Pool

Our Auckland team was delighted to return to our award-winning Hereford Residences project in 2018 to build a stunning roof-top swimming pool.

The pool sits on top of a five-storey parking building, with the structural steel frame cleverly designed to transfer the weight onto the car park columns rather than the roof slab. We installed a Tray-dec steel composite floor on top of the frame, then formed the pool from blockwork and a sprayed fibreglass lining.

We were involved in this project from an early stage, helping the client to tweak the design to bring it in within their budget, and re-pricing the work several times as the scope changed.

We maintained this collaborative approach once the project was under way, compressing the programme to complete the project six weeks earlier than the original completion date. This was popular with both the client and the apartment residents, who were able to use the pool over Christmas.
