Mornington School block A

We completed a weathertightness remediation of the 1970’s-era administration block at Mornington School, replacing the roof, windows and cladding and installing new structural elements.

With staff temporarily relocated to an adjacent building, we established a fully-enclosed, secure construction zone around the building to keep the school community safe. The installation of chalkboards on our site hoardings was especially popular with the students.

Due to the age of the building, some details about the existing structure couldn’t be confirmed until we had removed the roof and cladding. We worked closely with the client and their consultant team to resolve the structural and architectural details, using an engineered scaffold roof tent to keep the building dry while we worked.

We formed a strong relationship with the school, coordinating our construction activities around their timetable and keeping them informed throughout.
