Pacific Radiology Great King Street

We completed an extensive fitout over levels 4 and 5 of Pacific Radiology’s flagship Dunedin clinic. The facility delivers state-of-the-art breast imaging, MRI, PET/CT, ultrasound and x-ray services, and also includes reception, office and staff areas.

We worked alongside the base build contractor within the newly constructed facility, coordinating early site access to facilitate the timely delivery of materials. Several pieces of highly sensitive medical imaging equipment were scheduled for installation later in the programme and required cranage through designated roof access hatches. This was executed as a carefully sequenced and meticulously planned operation to ensure safety, precision, and protection of the equipment.

Some of the more technical work included radiation shielding, which involved multiple layers of lead-lined plywood in walls and ceilings. These areas needed to be signed off by the client’s physicist before we could close them up.

We incorporated a complex array of additional building services as part of the fitout, carefully fire rating new penetrations and ensuring that seismic separations between the services were maintained before reinstating the finishes. We also reconfigured the fire alarms and sprinklers to suit the new layout.

The fitout stands out for the incredible standard of workmanship delivered by our dedicated team and carefully selected specialist subcontractors, and for the collaborative relationships we fostered with the client and consultants.
