New deck and restaurant refurbishment.

Our Projects & Interiors team was engaged to demolish and rebuild the deck at Queenstown Golf Club, tripling its size from 50sqm to 160sqm. Along with a steel structure, timber joists, kwila decking and a frameless glass balustrade, the deck features an electric louvre roof. New aluminium joinery links the deck to the clubhouse, complete with two manual and two automatic sliding doors. The main challenge during this part of the work was incorporating the perfectly level new deck with the 50-year-old building, which had settled over time.

Our scope also included demolishing the kitchen and bar and reconfiguring the space with new interior walls and a dumbwaiter to the ground floor as part of a restaurant fitout that was running concurrently. Our involvement grew as our services were relied upon more to manage the entire fitout, identifying and safely resolving asbestos flooring and fire compliance issues.

We completed the work over four months during the quieter winter season, installing hoardings around our working area and securing a certificate for public use for the golf club so they could stay open throughout.
