New classroom and administration block with links to existing buildings.
Our project at St Catherine’s College in Kilbirnie, Wellington, involved demolishing two existing classrooms, then building a new two-level classroom/administration block and carpark.
The new block incorporates a reception area, classrooms, studios, administration areas, meeting rooms and resource rooms. It has an internal stairway linking it to existing school buildings, seamlessly incorporating the old and new spaces. We adjusted the existing carpark to suit the new building layout, including landscaping.
Once we had completed the new block, with students and staff settled in, we made the final adjustments to the original school reception area, which was converted into meeting rooms.
