High-quality new bathrooms built in a busy shopping centre on a tight programme.

Naylor Love completed two public bathroom projects at Sylvia Park shopping centre in 2020, one on the ground floor next to the new CEM Car Park and the other on the first floor near the food court.

The CEM Amenities were a new 210 square metre block with a parents’ room plus men’s, women’s and accessible facilities. Works included cutting the existing slab for the new drainage layout and rebuilding the external walls.

This project involved plenty of bespoke long lead items and a design which continued to evolve as we were building it. We arranged to hand the fully functioning amenities over to the client early while we waited for the final items to arrive, returning later to install them out of hours.

The Food Court Amenities involved stripping existing bathrooms right back before checking the services for compliance and reliability, then proceeding with a high-quality fitout. We endeavoured to cause as little disruption as possible to the neighbouring tenants and shoppers, often working through the night.

Despite the challenges of both working and procuring fixtures and fittings during the Covid-19 pandemic, we completed the project right on schedule and to a very high standard.

Our dedicated team ensured that the exceptionally high-quality fixtures and fittings used in both of these projects were installed to perfection in bathrooms that would not look out of place in a 5 star hotel.
