Our Waikato/BoP staff-led Sustainability Committee is investigating new ways to divert waste away from landfill.
Our Waikato/BoP Site Manager Glyn Hodgson has been working closely with saveBOARD to trial their new composite panel, which is made from rubbish – soft plastic packaging, Tetrapak cartons and coffee cups – that would otherwise be heading for landfill.
Initially we’re looking at using the boards for site hoardings, replacing plywood with a product that saveBOARD estimates generates 80% less carbon emissions. It looks great in our signature teal and is just as easy to paint and install. Even better, it costs less than ply, and can be recycled back into new boards once we’re done.
