Sommerville School junior digger visit
We organised a special site visit for students and teachers from Sommerville School, where we’re building a new a new classroom block and hydrotherapy pool.
Our civil contractor, McKenzie & Parma, paused works to ensure a safe, calm environment so our guests could focus on their important role as Junior Diggers. Site Manager Terence Stow welcomed everyone to a cordoned-off, non-operational area and shared some key site safety rules, including “stay in the designated area” and “freeze like a statue.”
There was plenty of excitement when our friendly digger operator gave the group a wave with the digger bucket – just like a Transformer! The students loved wearing their own hard hats and climbing into the cab to help us build their school.
We presented each student with a certificate and gift bag, recognising their excellent listening, safe behaviour and outstanding digging skills.
