Meticulous architectural design implemented on site with precision and an absolute focus on quality.

The Joe’s Garage café and restaurant at Five Mile is on the ground floor of Craigs Investment Partners House, which was also built by Naylor Love.

Initial works included laying drainage for the new toilet, kitchen and bar facilities. We formed new walls to create the back of house area and a private dining space, installed a polished concrete floor, added and reconfigured windows, and installed doors to accommodate two entrances.

The open plan layout includes an open kitchen and exposed services ceiling. The decorative ply bulkhead houses lighting and services to supply the front of house equipment, which includes extractor hoods, grills, a pizza oven and a full HVAC system. We installed Keruing hardwoord ply timber joinery to match the feature bulkhead, and added industrial steel screens to create separate seating areas.

The Naylor Love team worked well with the client and their project team, maintaining a collaborative approach despite them being based in the North Island. The meticulous architectural design was implemented on site with precision, attention to detail and an absolute focus on quality.

The owners were extremely pleased when we completed the fitout three weeks ahead of schedule, giving them plenty of time to prepare for their grand opening.
