World Environment Day
It’s World Environment Day! We sat down with National Environmental & Sustainability Manager Emma Foulkes to talk about why sustainability in construction matters to her.
Originally trained as a civil engineer, Emma built her career across large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. She saw firsthand the amount of waste our industry can generate and realised there had to be a smarter way to build, which led her to a career in sustainability leadership.
Emma says one of the things that drew her join Naylor Love last year was our long-term investment in sustainability, with Board-supported waste diversion and carbon reduction goals and dedicated environmental leadership across the country.
Emma believes the future of construction lies in making sustainability standard practice on every project and part of every decision. She works alongside our teams nationwide to help shape how projects are planned and delivered, supporting more efficient use of materials, driving practical waste reduction initiatives, managing environmental impacts, and embedding sustainability into everyday decision-making on site.
For Emma, it’s not just about environmental outcomes, it’s about building smarter and achieving better results on projects for clients, communities and the planet.
We look forward to introducing you to more of our environmental team over the next few weeks!
